I had first taken this for days and didn’t notice much of a difference. I was close to leaving this a poor review for effectiveness, but that soon changed, so you got to give this a good couple of weeks experimenting to really assess how it works. You can’t necessarily try it once and expect mind-blowing results. It was only when I stopped taking it that I realized it had been working. It’s that subtle for me. When I stopped taking it, I was so tired all day and caffeine wasn’t doing anything. Then I thought, “Tomorrow I’m going to try that Haritaki stuff again because I didn’t feel this tired on it.” I went back to taking it and I had more energy throughout the day. It’s just that subtle that I only notice the lack of energy on the days I don’t take it. Because the energy given isn’t something mind-blowing like an espresso shot or red bull. It’s more like a clearer mind kind of energy. In that respect, it gives me more clarity and gives me a pleasant feeling where I’m not in a bad mood, I’m simply content. Therefore, this is probably good for meditation or if you’re going for a walk in nature somewhere. It also helps me with a clearer mind for work when focus is needed. I’ve taken 1/8 in the morning, then later in the afternoon I go to the gym and I feel on fire. It seems to take hours before I really start to notice the changes in my body. I’d start small with 1/8 teaspoon first to assess your reaction and tolerance, then the next day if you’re fine with that raise it to the 1/4 recommended. This dissolves best in hot water, which you have to stir vigorously to break it up. Taste wasn’t anything to write home about, but also wasn’t as bad as some said. Maybe because I added honey to it or put it in a tea to drown the taste. Or because I’m used to taking healthy products that lack in taste. If you want sugar, get a coke. I would recommend drinking tons of water with this or make sure you’re hydrated as it might make you dehydrated. Take that as a clue to drink water. I didn’t have the negative side effects that others commented on such as nausea, vomiting or having to constantly go to the bathroom. I can’t speak for their physical body chemistry or why they’d experience that, but everyone is different. I’ve always been into healthy products and nutrition for decades. I also watch what I eat. And I work out several times a week with cardio and weights. So the clearing for me is like any other day with this stuff. There probably just wasn’t that much in the way of toxins in my body because of that. I suspect those that had massive negative reactions may have been filled to the brim with toxins that needed to be eliminated. Take a look at your diet and what you typically consume as well too. Our bodies and physical chemistry are all different from one another so we will all react differently to a supplement or substance. This may or may not work for you, so it’s just a matter of choosing to take the risk in trying it for a couple weeks or not.
